Ring 43's very own Bob Miller received one of IBM’s highest honors last month, a Presidential Citation. Bob’s timeless contributions to our Ring and the magic community in general are profound, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. You can learn more about Bob’s contributions below.
1972-2001 Bob contributed over 300 “Magic Maker” columns to the Ring newsletter
1974 Bob and other Ring members promoted Ring 43 when a reporter, Bill Kurtis, visited a Ring 43 meeting and filmed a report for the news. The 2-minute clip aired on the 6 and 10 PM news.
1974 & 1978 Contributed to I.B.M. Ring 43’s Chicago Parade in the Ring’s 1974 & 1978 Linking Ring parades.
1977-1978 President I.B.M. Ring 43
1978 Bob performs magic on “AM Chicago” on the local ABC station to promote the first of 10 annual Magic Days at Lincoln Park Zoo. Bob performed at all but one of the Magic Days.
1993-2015 Treasurer of Ring 43
2006 Compiled and edited Ring 43’s history for the Ring’s 60th anniversary celebration. Ring 43 published a 60th-anniversary history book with Eugene Burger writing the introduction.
2015-2022 Board member and newsletter proofreader
Bob and Mike Kamlet put together the Ring’s 60th anniversary celebration with Bob presenting the history of the Ring, Bill Pack presenting the magic in Chicago in 1946. Performances from Don Wiberg, Eugene Burger and many others rounded out the evening.

Created our Ring’s “motto” of “Dedicated to teaching its members to become better magical entertainers!” – which has been included in our monthly newsletter for close to 20 years.
